Barrack Street Jetty Swan RIver Pier 1 view

PERTH BOAT JETTIES WESTERN AUSTRALIA

A list of all the main public Perth Boat Jetties.

This is the most complete list of Perth Boat Jetties in WA, covering all public jetties used by Charter Boats for hire on the Swan River. It also includes Rottnest Island and the Winery region in the Swan Valley.

BARRACK STREET JETTY, PIER 1

Charter boats can only use Barrack Street Jetty, Pier 1. This is located directly behind the Lucky Shag pub or on the left if you happen to be looking at the water with the city behind you.

Pier 1 is the main pick up and drop off point on the Swan River for those wanting to leave from the Perth CBD. It is the only public boat jetty for Perth boat charters and Swan River boat cruises. The other jetties are for ferry transportation or private berthing.

EAST STREET JETTY, FREMANTLE

The East Street Jetty in Fremantle is by far the most popular jetty for charter boat departures and drop offs. Most Swan River boat cruises start and end from here.

As the name implies, it is located at the bottom of East Street though in reality about 100 metre away on Riverside Drive. If you know the Kiosk Café then you'll be well familiar with this location.

SARDINE JETTY, FREMANTLE

The Sardine Jetty is in Fremantle's Fishing Boat Harbour. It is right over the railway line on Mews Road and about 500 metres away from the famous Little Creatures pub.

Most Rottnest Island or Carnac Island boat charters will depart from the Sardine Jetty. Parking is ample and plentiful for those that can drive. Rail public transport is nearby too though you will have a 5 minute walk from the station.

JO JOs JETTY, NEDLANDS

Jo Jos Jetty in Nedlands is a really convenient public jetty close to the city, but not often used. Thankfully it has just had a massive upgrade making it more attractive to boat users.

The Jo Jos Jetty is beside the Aqua Viva restaurant and in front of the rugby club. It is also just down the hill from Steve's Pub for those that want a decent launching pad for their boat party!

MENDS STREET JETTY, SOUTH PERTH

The Mends Street Jetty is located in South Perth across the road from Coco's Restaurant. It has sweeping views of the Swan River and the Perth city skyline.

The Mends Street Jetty is not perfect for all boats as the channel is very shallow. It is mostly used by the Transit Ferry which connect it with Barrack Street.

MOSMAN BAY JETTY

The Mosman Bay Jetty is located to the side of the old Mosman Restaurant near the Kayak and Canoe boat house.

This jetty is often used to pick up guests and entertainment as it is about an hour from the city and 30 minutes from East Street in Fremantle. It also very sheltered so many boats will moor up near there on charters.

CLAREMONT JETTY

The Claremont Jetty is located on Jetty Road in Claremont. It is perfect for locals living near by, but it is not as great for others. Parking is nearly non-existent! Most rely upon drop-offs or Uber rides if going from here.

The Claremont Jetty is not far from the Mosman Bay Jetty.

POINT WALTER JETTY

The Point Walter Jetty is a great location though sometimes limited by parking. The surrounding area it is really popular with families bringing picnics. And even the jetty is loved by kids who love to dive off the poles into the water.

The Point Walter Jetty in on the East Side of the river and accessed down Point Walter Road, off Canning Highway. Pretty much all boats can dock there as the water is deep.

AQWA JETTY HILLARYS HARBOUR

The AQWA Jetty Hillarys Harbour is in front of the AQWA Aquarium. It is often referred to as the "Service Jetty". It is not where the ferry services depart from.

Parking is somewhat limited because of visitors to the Aquarium but if you get there early, this tends to not be a problem.

THOMSON BAY FUEL JETTY, ROTTNEST ISLAND

The Thomson Bay Fuel Jetty is used by charter boats visiting Rottnest Island and is very much restricted to short drop offs and pick ups. As the name implies, private boats refuel there and space is limited.

Most charter boats will drop customers here and then pull away. A pre-determined time will be given for when the boat returns. Don't expect charter boats to provide a constant shuttle service. They won't!
