Book Now for a Humpback In-water Interaction!

Join us to observe humpback whales in their natural environment.   If conditions are safe, and we are able to do so, guests may be able to experience an in water interaction with these majestic animals as well!

This full day tour day begins with a beautiful reef experience snorkel where you may encounter turtles, reef sharks, stingrays and various species of fish! We then make our way out to the open ocean to observe the whales in their playground.

If and when our trained guide deems it is safe to do so, guests will be separated into groups of 7, ready to enter the water. With the groups taking turns, 7 swimming guests will enter the water with 2 crew at a time, positioned to the side or in front of the whale’s path at a safe distance. It is then all up to the whales - each interaction will be on their terms. Humpback whales can be curious and may approach swimmers, or they may simply pass by. Spotter plane and drone is used to find and determine the sizes of claves before we get in the water.

When we have finished our time with the humpback whales we will make our way back inside the reef to have lunch and do a final reef snorkel. On our way back to the jetty we will provide you with a glass of champagne and a fruit platter to finish the day off in style.

We Provide:

A full buffet lunch, morning and afternoon tea, all snorkel equipment including long wetsuits, fresh drinking water, tea, coffee, toilet facility and underwater photo-package.

Humpback whale season in Coral Bay begins at the end of June and runs through to mid October.  During this time it is estimated around 30,000 whales pass through Ningaloo Reef on their annual migration, sometimes stopping to rest, shelter, and play in the calm waters of Coral Bay.

We are dealing with Mother Nature and animal behavior.  Therefore opportunities will vary from day to day.  Nothing in nature is guaranteed, however every effort will be made to ensure you have an amazing day out.

In the event that an in-water interaction is not possible on the day of the tour, Interaction swimmers will be refunded from the interaction price to the ‘Wildlife swimmer’ price. Coral Bay Ecotours does not offer non-sighting repeat vouchers for this tour.
