Boat charters to the gorgeous Swan Valley wine region remain one of Perth's untapped secrets and are often overlooked, despite being one of the best cruises on offer.

Few boats do the northern trek towards the wineries, so the choice of vessels is limited. The bigger ones (we're talking height, not length) can't make it under the Causeway Bridge. However, the few that can make it through this bottleneck (no pun intended), are fantastic.

The sites and scenery are breath-taking: Waters Edge winery, Bells Estate, Caversham and Sandalford being the most popular stop-offs.

Wine cruises are a fun way to spend the afternoon, and are particularly great for small groups (up to 15), though larger groups (up to 70) can be accommodated.
