Jetties
Most Perth boat charters will leave from one of the following jetties below, with the cheapest options invariably going from Fremantle. This is where 95% of all boats are berthed and for that reason, expect to pay more if you leave from near the city (Barrack Street, Mends Street, Swan Brewery, Jo Jo's):
Barrack Street
Easy to find. Just head for the glass bell tower!
Barrack Street is the busiest jetty in Perth, being home to many tourist vessels and ferries (as well as the odd pub). Parking is crap, so don’t expect to find a free spot unless you turn up after midnight. A bus, taxi or a good friend is highly advised for pick-ups and drop-offs.
Directions: The Barrack Street Jetty area is a one-way system shaped a bit like a horse-shoe. Look out for ‘Pier 1’ to your left as you approach the water. It’s just beyond the Lucky Shag pub. For an aerial view show of the jetty click on here: Barrack Street Jetty.
East Street
The East Street Jetty in North Fremantle is the most popular departure point for all Swan River boat cruises. It is located directly in front of the Beach Street Café and about 500 metres before the Left Bank Pub (not in front of it!).
Directions: If you are coming from Perth city on Canning Highway, you need to take a right hand turn onto East Street itself (just before you reach the Stirling Bridge). Go 50 metres down the hill to the river and then take a left. The East Street Jetty is about 50 metres further on your right hand side. There is plenty of parking for those coming by car.

Sardine Jetty
This is the hub of all activity for Rottnest Island boat charters. They almost always depart from the Sardine Jetty, based in Fishing Boat Harbour, Fremantle.
Now that’s the good news.
The bad news is that there’s absolutely no sign saying “Sardine Jetty”, so once again, BlueSun2 is here to help.
Directions: For those who know Fremantle well, head as if you’re going to Little Creatures or Cicerellos. As you leave the town, turn right off South Terrace Road, cross the railway line and take a right onto Mews Road. Immediately (and we mean 20-metres-later-immediately), take a left into the public parking lot. There are a couple of rusty anchors on the ground marking the entrance. Believe it or not, the jetty is by the small hut right in front of you, on the waters edge.
Note: if you get to Little Creatures, you’ve gone too far.

Meads Mosman
Mead’s is the destination restaurant that fronts Mosman Bay and its location is simply beautiful. But, as Bob Dylan said, "The times they are a changing”. It appears new ownership is on the horizon, as the Mead’s empire faces the carving knife….including this famous eatery.

As jetties go, it is still open to charter boats, so fingers crossed, new ownership will sprit in (hint hint) new jetty planks! They need it! The public jetty is off to the right hand side of the restaurant as you look at the water.
Directions: If you’re heading towards Fremantle on Stirling Highway, take a left onto Johnston Street. Follow that until you hit the water and then take a right onto Johnston Parade. Meads will be on your left about 150 metres away. Parking is available on the hill just past the restaurant.

Jo Jo's Jetty, Nedlands
Jo Jo's Jetty in Nedlands is a 500 metre stumble down Broadway for those familiar with the fine wines at Steve's Nedlands Park Hotel. The natural sheltered bay is a perfect departure and drop off point for both guests and boats.
Directions: If you are coming from Perth city on Stirling Highway, you need to take a left hand turn onto Broadway after you've passed the University of Western Australia (UWA) campus. Keep on Broadway for about six blocks, going over the roundabout at Princess Road, over the roundabout at the Avenue, past Steve's Hotel on your right and straight down to the parking lot at the water. There seems to be good parking all the time and awesome views.

Claremont Jetty
The Claremont public jetty is not large but it is convenient for local Claremont dwellers who can't make the journey to the city or Fremantle. It is also a favourite pick up and drop off point for "entertainment", if you get the drift.
Directions: If you are journeying south from Perth City, take a left on Bay View Terrace and follow the road down past the Bowling Club (on your left). Four blocks later, you will reach the T-junction of Victoria Avenue. Take a left and immediate right onto Jetty Road. The water is in front of you. Oh...and you will have a long jetty to walk with your food and drink.
