I'd love to answer this with another question, "How big is a piece of string?" Joking apart, most boats do a minimum 4-hour charter hire. Prices are based on an hourly rate which can vary from the cheapest ($250 per hour) to the most expensive ($1,374 per hour). Obviously with 50 boats to choose from, we advise giving us a call.
Most skippers do a minimum charter hire of 4 hours.
The East Street Jetty is the most popular public jetty for Swan River cruises. It's about 500 metres away from the Left Bank Pub.
The answer is yes, from the Barrack Street Jetty, Pier 1, but please be conscious that most boats are moored in Fremantle and as such you will face a surcharge for Perth pick-ups and drop-offs. The price tends to vary from boat to boat, and can amount to an additional one-hour charge.
Yes. The majority of boats allow you to BYO alcohol. However, quite a few vessels do have a liquor license and as such you could face a corkage charge. This varies from $5 - $10 per head, but it sure beats paying pub prices for grog! For those planning big parties, we highly recommend contacting De Vine Cellars on 08 9473 1718. They'll give you great prices, great service and above all else, free delivery.
Yes. Many people organise their own food, either by using a catering company, or by bringing their own meats and salads for a barbeque. We highly recommend speaking to BlueSun2 if you want the best advice on how to make your party a great event. We have had hands-on experience working on most of the boats and know their pros and cons very well.
8-hours is a normal cruise to Rottnest Island. However, some vessels do offer shorter journeys. Call us for further information.
About 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of vessel.
The Sardine Jetty (off Mews Road) is the most popular pick up and drop off point.
Some charter boats do take a small 'tender' or dingy with them, so you can be dropped off at a jetty or the beach. If you really need access to the island, it is best to ask before booking your boat.
All commercial charter boats are required to pay the Rottnest Island Authority a fee for every passenger on every journey. This money is used to fund the conservation and preservation of Rottnest Island. The cost is approximately $13 per person and many boats will charge you this fee on top or their normal charter hire costs.
